The talents of the Stanneylands Hotel's young chef Bob Eggington were celebrated recently when he headed the hotel's kitchen brigade and treated 118 diners to a wonderful meal.

Bob has worked at some of the leading hotels in the local area including Malmaison and the Lowry Manchester. He has since settled at the 4 star, 2 AA rosette restaurant at the Stanneylands Hotel in Wilmslow and is continuing to learn under head chef Richard Maun.

The evening was attended by some of Cheshire’s followers of good food and his menu included, Ravioli of salmon and crayfish, served with baby spinach and chervil veloute, followed by roast rump of lamb, potato rosti and caramalised onion compote served with rosemary jus and mint oil. The dessert was a trio of bananas and guests also enjoyed a cheese selection and coffee and petit fours.

The evening was part of a series of talented chef nights run by Pam Billington and was supported by Villeroy & Boch, Robinson’s Brewery, Illy coffee, Joseph Heler Cheese, Gerrard Seel wines and Tibard workwear. Over �300 was raised for Hospitality Action on the evening. Hostess on the night was Nicola Newman who has been at Stanneylands for three years.
