An inaugural fundraising charity ball celebrating the life of Tanith Butters was held at the Priory, Wighill Park, near Wetherby. Tanith, who lived with her family in Bilbrough, near York, died last February after a seven-year battle with breast cancer. She left a husband and two children.

Her family and friends organised Tan’s Party to raise funds for the charity she chose to support during her life – Breakthrough Breast Cancer. More than 25,000 was raised by the 450 guests ‘We have been overwhelmed by people’s generosity,’ said Kirsty Wilson Close from Tan’s Party Committee. ‘The amount raised far exceeded our expectations.’
