Irish singer Brian Kennedy, the flautist James Galway and a lively band, Zodiac, kept guests at the 22nd Irish Abroad Dinner dancing into the small hours.

Irish singer Brian Kennedy, the flautist James Galway and a lively band, Zodiac, kept guests at the 22nd Irish Abroad Dinner dancing into the small hours.

Over 400 guests from the Irish community in Cheshire and Manchester enjoyed the event at the Hilton Hotel, and at the same time raised around �35,000 for good causes, including Francis House children’s hospice in Didsbury.

Northern arist Harold Riley donated one of his pictures to raise funds and paid a tribute to Sister Aloysius, founder of Francis House, who died last summer.Two years ago, Irish Abroad pledged to raise �57,000 towards a Young Oncology Unit at The Christie Hospital. So far�27,000 has been raised and the fundraising efforts continue.
