Around 300 guests joined celebrities and VIPs at the 8th Pure Leisure Group Charity Ball. The event was hosted by comedian Tom O’Connor and raised nearly 50,000. That figure, coupled with a campaign started earlier in the year, means Pure Leisure Group owner John Morphet has topped 100,000 in his fundraising for the North West children’s hospice Derian House, near Chorley.

Among the famous faces were Hollyoaks actress and former Brookside star Alex Fletcher, while Coronation Street favourite Jennie McAlpine, who plays underwear factory worker Fiz Stape in the soap, stole the show with a red satin basque. However she wasn’t wearing it - the framed underwear was signed by the street’s famous faces and auctioned off to raise even more money for the cause!
