The Fairford & Lechlade Business Club Awards Ceremony rewards local businesses for their innovation, entrepreneurship and contribution to the local community. Around 100 guests enjoyed the Awards dinner at Lechlade Garden Centre – an unusual yet appropriate venue in which to celebrate the growth of flourishing businesses. Guest speaker, Kenton Cool, 8 times conqueror of Mount Everest, said he recognized that the qualities he needed to climb mountains such as teamwork and motivation were also needed in local business.On this night of celebration, as well as the business awards, there was also a prize for the most outstanding Year 11 Business Studies student from Farmor’s School and the presentation of the Howard Dowler award given to the person who has made an outstanding contribution to the local community.
