Keep it Cash, the UK’s top Johnny Cash tribute band, comes to Gloucester

Keep it Cash are the most honest tribute to the late great man in black, Johnny Cash. They celebrate the music of singer, songwriter and author who died in 2003. Keep it Cash are an inspired line up of stellar musicians, the band recreate the note perfect musical legacy of Johnny Cash complete with his iconic baritone voice.

The show has toured the UK and abroad for over ten years and is regarded by the music business, critics and press as the best sounding Cash tribute show on the planet.

Keep it Cash were invited to London, as the Johnny Cash tribute band to launch the Academy Award-winning film Walk the Line. Public attention came after BT used them for their television commercial in Northern Ireland.

This then extended to the rest of the UK after a booking, as the leading Johnny Cash sound alike, to record a television advert that ran on UK radio and television for over a year. An engagement by the commercial voice-over studios ‘The Sound House’ to record a version of the Johnny Cash classic I’ve Been Everywhere followed and a booking as the sound of Johnny Cash by the CMI and Scottish Council to open the 65th Edinburgh International Film Festival has been another highlight.

It’s live performance however that is their passion, part of the inspiration coming back in 1991 Dave Burnham from the band was invited by Liz Kershaw from the BBC, back stage at Wembley Arena to meet Johnny Cash, he also met June Carter, Earle Poole Ball and drummer Fluke Holland.

The full live band are outstanding musicians true to the standard of the man himself from the vocals and up-right base through to lap-steel guitar, shut your eyes and you’ll believe that The Man in Black is back!

Their performance will be supported by Monmouth-based, recently signed Roots and Americana band Ghost of a Dog, and is to be held on Friday, April 5 at the BWM Promo Wotton Hall Concert Room, 138 Barnwood Road, Gloucester, GL4 3JS.
