The arts are coming to Tonbridge in a big way from 15 to 24 October, with the town's Arts Festival promising something for everyone. Get your tickets now - many of them are free!

Events get under way with the fantastic Phil Collins tribute act No jacket Required, and the Original Bucks Fizz with Kent’s very own Cheryl Baker will close proceedings in style.

In between, there are more than 60 events scheduled that cater for evey size of pocket (many events are free of charge) and for every taste. Throughout the festival, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in workshops covering such diverse subjects as circus skills, song writing and acting for TV.

Any budding artists can also make a contribution to The Big Picture, which will be one big image created out of 22 panels outside Tonbridge Castle. There will also be authors giving readings and poets a plenty for those of a literary disposition. And if all that wasn't enough to whet your appetite, there will also be a host of comedy improvisation, medieval music and appearances from international magician Jonanthan Shotton and artist Guy Portelli of Dragon's Den fame.

— The Parish Church of St Peter & St Paul will play an important role in the festival and is hosting three of the main events.

The Pillars of Truth art exhibition, 10am-4pm daily (11am-4pm Sun)

An afternoon with Jane Austen, 17 Oct, which starts with a guided walk from Tonbridge library at 2.30pm, followed by a talk at 4.30pm and an Austen themed service at 6.30pm (5 for the whole afternoon)

If Music be the Food of Love, will be performed by the Quintus Vocal Ensemble on 17 Oct (7.50).

And on 16 October, the parish church plays host to the Royal Tunbridge Wells Orpheus Male Voice Choir performing a concert in aid of the Organ Restoration Fund (10 from the Church Office on 01732 770962 or at the door).
