Mid Hertfordshire I Wives Fellowship held its Autumn Conference at Hatfield House on September 22 and 23. The 250 female guests arrived for a church service at St Etheldreda’s on the Wednesday afternoon and then tayed the night locally in the homes of members, where 19 different supper parties took place. The next day, the conference kicked off with talks by theologian Christina Rees, member of the General Synod, and Diane Louise Jordan, who presents Songs of Praise. After lunch guests enjoyed a performance by local actor/director Guy Masterson, great nephew of the late Sir Richard Burton. The Wives’ Fellowship is a national group of Christian women, linked in a belief in marriage and family life.
