Developer Crest Nicholson’s Part Exchange Scheme leads to stress-free upsize for local Gloucestershire family

South Gloucestershire locals Lynnette and Lawrence Smith and their two young daughters have upsized to a brand-new four bedroom Caldwick home at Charfield Village. The family were originally looking to extend their existing property, before realising a new build not only provided the extra space they needed, it was also a better decision financially.

Lynnette Smith said: “We had this misconception that new homes are small with no gardens, but when we compared Crest Nicholson’s houses with our plan for extending our previous house, it made perfect sense to not bother extending and just move.

“Because we had no intention to sell our previous home, we didn’t have any potential buyers. The house hadn’t been valued and we had no photographs to list the property. Crest Nicholson’s Part Exchange scheme meant that the whole process was taken care for us.

“We had valuers out straight away, were given a fair market price, and were even granted permission to stay in the house for an additional period after completion before moving into our new home. It really took the stress out of moving and meant we weren’t rushed throughout the process.”

As their daughters grow up, Lynnette and Lawrence are particularly pleased with the double size of all bedrooms, the additional garage, large laundry room, and high-specification that meant costly add-ons weren’t necessary.

Lynnette continued: “Looking into other housebuilders’ site and floor plans, it quickly became clear they didn’t have the same WOW-factor as Crest Nicholson. We also found Charfield Village to be really good value for money as the homes include all the extras such as wardrobes and appliances – it’s these details which make all the difference.”

The family have benefited from Crest Nicholson’s referral scheme, with a friend referring them to Crest Nicholson. Lynnette said: “Because our friend referred us, we both received £1,000 through the scheme. We’ve since referred Lawrence’s parents who are moving into the development in the New Year.”

Charfield Village offers a collection of traditional four bedroom homes ideally situated in Gloucestershire, right on the edge of the Cotswolds. Prices range from £350,000 to £580,000.
