As an independent family business, Marsdens Devon Cottages is always pleased to work with other local businesses.

We've grown a lot since 1973, including joining the Original Cottages family, but our promise to provide the best service to holiday cottage owners and guests hasn't changed.

Braunton business owner Olly Seymour is owner of the renowned SQ Bar and Restaurant. His family owns the award-winning Squires Fish and Chip Restaurant, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

There are now four generations of the family working in the business.

He said: "Marsdens are a very friendly, approachable company to work with. They have always been loyal customers of our two restaurants, with staff coming in for lunch or drinks, and sending holiday rentals guests to us.

"When Lucy and I decided to make our first venture into the holiday letting sector, Marsdens was the natural choice for us."

The Marsdens office is in the pretty North Devon village of Braunton, and with Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe on the doorstep, it's safe to say we know and love this area.

Most of our staff live locally and many have been with us for many years. We inspect all our properties regularly and have great relationships with our owners, so we can always find out the answers to any questions our guests may have.

Oliver McCarron is North Devon Manager at Marsdens. He said: "One of our core values is being local and family owned and it is one of the top reasons why owners come to us.

"We're a family group that cares for the local community. We have people on hand to answer questions from holidaymakers, and to deal with any issues.

"We build great relationships with local businesses. We know it's a symbiotic relationship, which benefits businesses, our guests and our local area."

Olly said the Marsdens team was able to use its first-class knowledge of the local market to advise the couple throughout the refit of their holiday rental, Great Field View.

This light and bright contemporary townhouse enjoys wonderful views of The Burrows UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Visitors feel right at home in this high-spec, well-equipped family house with luxury hotel vibe. Outdoors, there's a cleverly designed seating area with artificial grass and rattan furniture - perfect for year-round relaxation.

Oliver said: "The pride Marsdens shows in our area transmits to our owners too. We're passionate about improving the environment and enjoy being involved in beach cleans and working with Plastic Free North Devon and Love Braunton.

"We're thrilled to have raised over £5,000 for North Devon's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve through kind donations from our guests."

Oliver added: "We want to guarantee North Devon remains as beautiful as ever - for everyone who lives here, and for our guests who visit and fall in love with the place!"
