The Dental Academy was established in 1990 before moving to its current surroundings in Daresbury, Cheshire in 1999, making it one of the longest established Private dental practices in the North West of England. During that time Dr Kevin Dobbs has developed a highly skilled team of clinicians and support staff to help care for their patients, including establishing their own dental laboratory which allows them to construct all of their dentures, crowns and bridges on site.

One of the most sought-after treatments offered by The Dental Academy is 'teeth in one day'. Kevin told us about the procedure.

What is 'teeth in one day'?

'Teeth in one day' is a procedure that allows us to replace a full set of teeth or a full denture in essentially one procedure, without the need for a denture during the healing phase. Dental implants have been placed in the Academy since 1990 to replace failing or missing teeth. When the treatment first became available, we had to remove a tooth and wait months for healing, then place an implant and wait a further six months before connecting the final tooth. The skills and technology available to us now mean that we can take teeth out, place our implants and connect a fully fixed provisional bridge straightaway.

What are the benefits of 'teeth in one day'?

Many people who wear a denture or have failing teeth have a poor experience of conventional dentistry. 'Teeth in one day' allows this group of people to have a fully fixed replacement set of teeth in a very short space of time. For some that means throwing away a denture they might have had for many years and eating and tasting food in a normal way again, or it might be someone who has been struggling with loose teeth having had gum disease, achieving that solid, great looking smile once again. 'Teeth in One day' restorations are fully fixed, you don't take them out and there is nothing at all covering the roof of the mouth as there is with a denture.

Many people feel nervous about going to the dentist, which is why we ensure that visiting our surgery is a pleasant and comfortable experience. Our friendly and highly skilled staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and to help to calm your nerves.
