The Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival is set to be a stylish event
Fashion is combined with sporting excellence at York Racecourse which has a proud tradition of staging the very best of thoroughbred racing dating back to 1731. It is considered one of the leading racetracks in the world and host to some of the best race days in the British summer racing calendar. Highlights include £7million in prize money, award-winning terraces and the most famous horses.
The season gets underway on Wednesday, May 17th with the three-day Dante Festival. With 18 days racing throughout the summer there are plenty of opportunities for social gatherings against the backdrop of world class sport. York’s flagship meeting, the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival runs from Wednesday, August 23rd to Saturday, August 26th and features the richest, fastest, oldest and most famous races of the season, the Juddmonte International Stakes, the Darley Yorkshire Oaks, the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes and the Betfred Ebor.
For the last four years events agency, We Love This has designed, styled and built the Ebor Fashion Lawn, one of the main non-racing attractions of the Ebor Festival. The eye-catching, flower-clad catwalk, set at the heart of the racecourse in front of the Edwardian Weighing Room, offers a touch of ‘modern vintage’.
On all four days of the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival, County stand and Grandstand racegoers are able to visit the Ebor Fashion Lawn. Each day the best of fashion on the day is judged with categories for ladies, gentleman, children and couples. All entrants are judged by a panel of guest judges each day and could win prizes from a range of different brands. There is no need to pre-register, just visit the Ebor Fashion Lawn on the day and sign up in the heats between 11am and 2.30pm each day. Ladies Day is on the Thursday, August 24th and the Best Dressed Festival Racegoer is crowned on the lawn and wins a short break for two to Dubai courtesy of Marriott Hotels.
The Ebor Fashion Lawn is managed by We Love This which has offices in London and Leeds and also works with clients such as Unilever, New Look, House of Fraser, Morrisons, ITV and the Isle of Wight Festival. We Love This also designed and built furniture for the Edwardian Weighing Room and have extended their partnership with the racecourse this year to help create many more magical race days. w
