Beales ‘Girls’ Night Out’ event a huge success as the spring/summer season has kicked off in full swing

A well-attended fashion event, raising more than 10,400 for Dorset’s children’s hospice Julia’s House, has been described as an ‘overwhelming success’ by organisers. Professional models, dancers and a crowd of 500 packed into Beales in Bournemouth for the much-anticipated ‘Girls’ Night Out’ event on 12 May and were treated to the latest spring and summer trends and developments in the fashion and beauty field.

Six thousand pounds of the final figure raised for Julia’s House was generated as a result of Beales CEO, Tony Brown, strutting his stuff on the catwalk as part of the finale scene. Guests including fashion icon George Davies, designer of fashion label GIVe, Wendy Hallet from Fuse and Gallery, Jonathan Feldman from Autonomy and Gellan Watt from Bournemouth-based advertising, digital and branding agency based Thinking Juice helped to raise this fantastic figure.

The event also saw professional models wearing a catalogue of garments and accessories from top fashion brands at Beales including East, L K Bennett, Fenn Wright Manson, Damsel in a Dress and Fuse. Aside from the latest fashions, crowds watching the catwalk show were entertained during the finale scene by a professional dance act who have worked alongside top A-list artists including Janet Jackson, Take That, Pussycat Dolls, Duffy and X-Factor contestants.

Guests also enjoyed complimentary pink and white bubbly, canaps and cupcakes while being inspired with an abundance of shopping opportunities as well as guidance from in-store professionals providing top-to-toe makeovers, relaxing back, neck, arm and hand massages, skin care advice, make-up tips and bra fitting guidance. Guests also had the opportunity to go home with perfectly manicured hands following a visit to the new Mavala nail clinic.

Pam Hudson, marketing manager at Beales, says: “This was out fifth Girls’ Night Out event and its’ overwhelming success has created an ultimate event for followers of fashion all over Dorset. The theme for this season’s event was secret garden and as guests arrived they stepped on to the green carpet entrance with picket fencing. Inside the store was transformed with climbing ivy and bird cages to enhance the secret garden theme. A fantastic total was raised for Julia’s House and we wish to thank guests for their generous contributions which resulted in Tony Brown joining the models on stage for the finale catwalk scene. The evening was an indulgent evening of pampering and fashion offering guests with the opportunity to enjoy a professional fashion show, experience one-to-one pampering as well as watch expert demonstrations.”
