Not only do Kelly Saynor and her team at Renew Medical Aesthetics, Gawsworth, offer a wide range of beauty treatments, they take the time to really get to know their clients.

The beauty industry is more exciting than ever, developing results-driven treatments for those who feel the surgeon’s knife is a blade too far.

However, the modern dilemma is, finding a beauty professional who is knowledgeable, passionate, trustworthy and can guide you through the options without making you feel you have to rush into any decisions.

On a bright cold day I head over to meet Kelly Saynor, who is so passionate about aesthetic beauty that she opened her own clinic, Renew Medical Aesthetics, which nestles in the middle of stunning Cheshire countryside on Congleton Road in Gawsworth.

The beauty of its location is immediately apparent: it’s remote enough so you can turn up minus makeup, you can park right outside, have your treatments then head back home without bumping into anyone you know!

Step through the door and it is clear that this is a salon that mixes personality with professionalism. The feel in the reception areas is of a relaxing and luxurious boutique space, with aged stripped wooden beams, accent wallpaper and inspirational messages printed on the pale grey walls. But once inside the treatment rooms there’s the calm you’d associate with the quiet professionalism of this small and engaging team.

Qualified nurse Kelly, who has worked in the aesthetics industry for 13 years, opened the clinic 12 months ago and it has proved the perfect base for her business which not only offers bespoke treatments for her private clients but provides training for beauty professionals and distributes a state-of-the-art product called The Perfect Peel®.

It’s a labour of love for Kelly who developed a passion for aesthetics after she quit her job in the NHS as a paediatric nurse and joined the Harley Medical Group, but one which she finds constantly fascinating.

‘I got a really good grounding there, working in both surgical and non-surgical but what I began to realise was how much things were changing,’ she says.

‘When I first started out non-surgical treatments accounted for about 30 per cent of the market and surgical, including breast augmentations 70 per cent. But when I left Harley Med four years later, it had completely switched. It was about 70 per cent non-surgical and 30 per cent surgical. From then on I developed a real passion for aesthetics.’

Kelly also had a dream to open her own business that really focused on the client and offered a kind of ‘cosmetic couture’ service, tailored to suit individual needs, something she felt was missing in a more corporate environment.

‘My passion was always to start my own business. I worked in various companies training and even produced my own magazine - the first written by a professional to debunk some of the myths in the industry - but it was to satisfy the needs of my clients that led me to open the clinic here,’ she explains.

‘We found this place and it made tremendous sense. At the end of this room we have a big training centre so I can combine the love of what I do and spend time with my patients too.’

The experience for each individual is tailored perfectly to suit them. Not only that but when clients arrive at the Renew clinic, they can also be assured they are treated by either Kelly herself, or trained emergency nurse Sharon Brown, who is in fact a former patient.

Says Kelly: ‘It’s just Sharon and me. We like people to get to know us and they know who they are coming to see and that we know their skin. If you have a big team you can get passed around a bit and feel like you keep having to tell your story, but we know our clients really well.

‘We like to keep client-focused and then it is bespoke from there - it’s individual.’

While the clinic offers a wide range of non-surgical treatments that include dermal fillers, chemical peels, hair removal, facial contouring and laser rejuvenation, Kelly and Sharon are hugely focused on skin health.

‘If the client’s skin is healthy and de-stressed they may not need any other treatments or if they do, they will last longer,’ explains Kelly.

‘That is our ethos. The other thing is, we educate clients about how to maintain their skin health.

‘People often say to our clients that they look really good - not asking what did she have done. That’s what you need - not oh my gosh she’s had work done!’

Janet Reeder experiences the ultimate Fire and Ice Facial at Renew Medical Aesthetics

Like most women I love a quick fix and having just come back from a winter break and feeling the effects of jetlag, the idea of an intense medi-facial that would address dehydration, resurface the skin and reduce fine lines seemed the perfect solution.

Renew Medical Aesthetics specialise in results-driven treatments so there is no whale music and relaxing massages. Instead my skin is cleansed before the ‘fire’ masque is applied and immediately begins to tingle as a result of its potent mixture of sugar cane extract ( a potent natural source of glycolic acid), retinol and niacinamide.

A second masque formulated with potent antioxidants including hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, green tea, grape seed and rosemary extract cools down and soothes the skin, then finally, a unique combination of serums and crèmes is applied. My skin feels ultra nourished and glows. There’s no down time and I can apply make-up straight away. It’s the perfect solution for anyone wanting to look great for a special occasion, or just needs a lovely pick-me-up.
