Local children’s swimming lesson provider, Aquaschool, is set to increase lesson capacity to cope with growing demand from the local community.

Based at award-winning Splashpoint Leisure Centre on Worthing seafront, additional pool-space has been allocated to cope with increasing demand.

From Monday 13 April the main pool will be fully-utilised at what would otherwise be the quietest period for public swimming usage; between 3.30pm and 6pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

South Downs Leisure Chief Executive, Duncan Anderson, is delighted with this change adding: “Worthing is a fantastic town that is located beside the sea and with all its water-based activities it’s a big draw for everyone, particularly if you’re a child wanting to get into the water. I welcome the changes to encourage more children to learn to swim.”

Aquaschool offers coaching to promote swimming techniques, aid water safety and create confident swimmers, from age 6 months to 16 years old, recognising each stage of their development with a record of achievement and rewards.

New swimming timetables are just part of the ongoing development of existing facilities improving customer experience at South Downs Leisure sites. Also, as a result of the changes, more public swimming time will be now available during term-times.
