Against the national backdrop of a fall in the A*-C pass rate, Box Hill School students and teachers were delighted with the school’s GCSE results going in the opposite direction.

Exceeding the national figure by over 15%, students were celebrating some excellent results with an A*-C pass rate of 82%. Up 8% on last year and with an overall pass rate at 99.5% there were many examples of students with personal success stories.

Among some of the best results was Toby Edison who achieved 6 A*, 2 A and 2 B grades and Justus Rinne who was awarded 2 A*, 6 A and 4 B grades.

Kayleigh Elias, at Box Hill School for the last 5 years was ecstatic with her 2 A*, 7 A and 1 B scores. Kayleigh said: “I am so happy with my results, I couldn’t have done it without my teachers and how they really supported me. I am looking forward to coming back to school in September to start the IB.”

Headmaster Mr Cory Lowde said: “We have worked tremendously hard over the last year to ensure, as always, that we provide extraordinary value added for every student. To see so many positive results, exceeding our own internal targets, and bettering not just last year but also the UK average by such a large margin, is a testament to everybody’s hard work. I am thrilled.”
