Twenty-nine Year 7 & 8 pupils at the end of the last academic year provided Claremont’s inaugural submission for this highly regarded national qualification in the Arts from Trinity College, London and the Drama Department is extremely proud of them and all of their hard work. Mrs Ansar-Carver, Head of Drama said, “I would like to congratulate all the children on helping Claremont to achieve a 100% pass rate. The moderator was very impressed with the range of portfolios.”

Portfolios and visual arts were on view prior to the ceremony and pupils and parents enjoyed a ‘celebration tea’ with canapés, cakes and drinks. A Year 9 student hosted the evening with finesse and a good touch of humour. Performances from work completed during the Arts Award sessions were on full display. These included a music video, singing and a very energetic poem incorporating gymnastics. The certificates were presented by Mr Giles Perrin, Headteacher of Claremont Senior School and Mrs Diane Durrant, Headteacher of Claremont Prep School. Senior students also played a part in celebrating the Arts on the evening.
