At Cranmore School we care passionately about education in its fullest sense
We want children to have a positive school experience in which they develop a love for learning as well as developing strong friendships. Cranmore enjoys a remarkable reputation as one of Surrey’s leading prep schools and announced that it will become fully co-educational in planned phases. By September 2016, there will be girls and boys throughout our Bright Stars Nursery and Junior Department.
Headmaster, Michael Connolly, commented: “We are implementing this change from a position of strength. Increasingly parents want their sons and daughters to be educated together and we feel sure that Cranmore is well placed to deliver an outstanding education for both boys and girls. The school has an impressive academic record underpinned by strong pastoral care.”
Cranmore has been commended for its academic reputation, excellent facilities and high quality music and sport.

Cranmore was awarded the top grade in every category for its most recent inspection: “The pupils’ achievements are excellent.” and “The pupils’ personal development is supported by excellent pastoral care.” There is a very broad curriculum. Pupils study both modern and classical languages: French, Spanish, Mandarin, Latin and Greek. As you would expect for a leading school, Maths, English and Science are very strong with the latter being taught as Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Year 6 onwards. The sporting opportunities are phenomenal as the school has its own extensive playing fields, swimming pool, gymnasium with climbing wall and a sports hall which incorporates a fitness centre and several squash courts. Children can pursue all the major sports but also do rowing, skiing or even golf.
Younger pupils, including those in the Nursery (Bright Stars at Cranmore), receive an excellent start which includes access to a fantastic Forest School with bespoke log cabin. In addition to the Nursery, the main entry points are for Reception (4+) and Year 3 (7+).
