PUPILS from St John’s Catholic School in Baldock teamed up with Barratt Homes to create a long lasting memory of the local community, by burying a time capsule at Templar’s Gate development in Baldock.Items for the time capsule were chosen by the pupils and, after hearing from archeologist Keith Fitzpatrick Matthews about Baldock’s history the children selected items such as photographs, a TV magazine, art work by the pupils and a school jumper to give future children an insight into school life in 2010.Kevin Browne, a teacher from St John’s, was very happy with how the day panned out. ‘It was a fantastic activity for our pupils to be involved with, and it’s nice to see events like these bring the local community together. The children loved coming up with their ideas for the time capsule and being part of such a historical event, I’m sure the daywill be a long lasting memory for everyone involved.’
