traditions and activities during their three-day Festival of Culture.

Girls at The Queen’s School in Chester spent the end of term experiencing Indian traditions and activities during their three-day Festival of Culture.

The girls took part in cultural activities to expand their knowledge of the Asian country and explore the language and heritage of India.

Visiting artists led workshops on traditional art forms such as Rangoli art kathak dance, classical music and storytelling as well as modern aspects of Indian culture such as Bollywood dance, literature, film and even cricket.

Everyone experimented with indigo dye and there was an opportunity to build the Taj Mahal, learn about the cause and effects of earthquakes, celebrate Diwali and discover the wonders of the Mahabarata.
