HARLOW’S leading housebuilder last week donated two glass walls from the squash courts in the old sport centre in Harlow to the Haileybury School in Hoddesdon. The glass courts are a welcome addition to the sports hall at the school which is used by both the students and the squash club.

Barratt North London donated the squash courts walls from the old sports centre which was recently demolished to deliver further much needed new homes as part if its Fifth Avenue development and the Harlow Gateway Partnership.

Glyn Hopping, Managing Director for Barratt North London commented “We are delighted to be able to support local sporting initiatives and the community where we build new homes. Haileybury School offers state of the art fitness facilities to their pupils and the local community and we are happy that our donation will benefit future generations at the school and the squash club.”

As part of the wider regeneration for Harlow, the old sports centre in Harlow was sold to Barratt North London and the new sports centre, Leisurezone was opened in June this year. This has been listed in the London 2012 Olympic Pre-Games Training Camp Guide, which means athletes from all over the world could be helping to put Harlow on the map by preparing for the Olympics in the town.

Fifth Avenue, conveniently located on the edge of Harlow town offers an attractive mixture of house types from one and two-bedroom apartments to two, three, four bedroom houses. Within close proximity to the train station, the development is ideal for those who commute to London or need close access to Harlow town centre.
