Sixth form leavers from three top schools celebrated the end of their classroom days with a ball at Manchester’s Midland Hotel.

Around 300 students from Withington Girls’ School (WGS), Manchester High School for Girls (MHSG) and Manchester Grammar School (MGS) dressed to impress at their leavers’ ball at The Midland in black tie and glamorous dresses. The event was organised by a committee led by Head Girls from Withington and MHSG and the MGS School Captain, with help from deputies.

Withington’s Head Girl Sejal Karmarkar said: ‘The ball was an amazing way to celebrate the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one, with friends from all three schools that we had grown up alongside and become so close to over the years.’

MGS School Captain Harish Shivakumar said: ‘The 2018 Leavers Ball was a night to remember! It was an evening filled with non-stop laughter, dancing and embarrassing photos! After the hard work of our A Levels, this night served as a great way to relieve our stress, reminisce about school and make new friendships.’ Manchester High Head Girl Eleanor Fidler said: ‘After the summer holidays many of us will be going our separate ways. The Ball was a wonderful time to create memories with friends before beginning this new chapter.’
