One of the largest colleges in Somerset is under the leadership of a new team.

The Board Governors at Bridgwater College have appointed Mike Robbins to the role of Principal, following the retirement of the former Principal, Fiona McMillan. Mike had worked with Fiona for more than fifteen years in the role of Vice Principal; prior to this he was the Head of Faculty of Business, Management and Humanities at Newham College of Further Education in London.

Former Head of Business Development at the College, Andy Berry, has since been appointed to the role of Vice Principal. Andy has worked at the College for over 20 years; in addition to his most recent role, he was the Head of Arts and Technology and prior to that he was Section Leader for IT and Engineering.

Chair of Governors Derek Randall said, “The standard of applicants from across the country for both posts was exceptionally high and the selection process for the appointments was very thorough, lasting nearly three days in each case. It is for these reasons I am confident we now have one of the strongest principalship teams of any college in the South West.”

Meanwhile, Matt Tudor of Tribal Education has been appointed as the new Head of Business Development and will join the College in September 2012.
