Three Prior Park students have been awarded medals at the first round of the British Biology Olympiad.

Jonathan Raby scored 69% and Rachel Scott attained 66%, both achieving gold medals, whilst Erika Moon achieved 57% and a silver medal.

Jonathan and Rachel’s scored put them in the top 5% of the UK out of 2,850 participants and means they will go through to the next round of exams.

Prior Park Headmaster, Mr James Murphy-O’Connor, comments:

“To achieve medals in the British Biology Olympiad is a fantastic achievement as this competition is very challenging, so congratulations to all three students. If Jonathan and Rachel succeed in the next round they will then take some practical exams at Birmingham University in April and if successful there they will qualify to go to the International Olympiad in Taiwan in July. We are very excited to see how they get on and wish them the best of luck.”
