The Prior Park Under-18 boys' hockey team has won the Avon County Cup.

The squad beat Bristol Grammar School (1-0) and Colston's (3-0). A 0-0 draw with Kingswood secured qualification for the semi-finals as group winners.

Last Friday the squad beat Bristol Grammar School (1-0) and Colston's (3-0). A 0-0 draw with Kingswood secured qualification for the semi-finals as group winners.

Here the team met Monkton Combe and, after a tense encounter, we ran out 1-0 winners. In an all-Bath final Prior Park stormed to victory over Kingswood by 3-0.

The Prior Park squad won the tournament (the second tournament this term) without conceding a goal and now move on to the West of England rounds in early March.

The squad are as follows: Will Matthews, Hugo Harris, Eddie Robinson, Will Dabell, Will Cavaliero, Seb Symington, Matthew Gallegos, Peter Borton, Louis Tambe, Cai Richards, Hamish Pearson, Ben Williamson, Will Garner and Charlie Burwell.

Prior Park Headmaster, Mr James Murphy-O’Connor, comments:

“The Under-18 hockey team have played phenomenally well this term, as this is the second tournament they have won. We are extremely pleased with the squad’s progress and are very much looking forward to the next match.”
