King Edward’s Junior School are attempting to set a Guinness World Record for ‘the largest reading lesson in a single venue’ on World Book Day Thursday 7th March.
250+ children will be taking part, including children from Combe Down Primary School, in the largest reading lesson in a single location at King Edward’s Junior School. The lesson will be run by King Edward’s Junior School teacher Elizabeth Mcfarlan accompanied by Bath author Joanna Nadin. Joanna’s book called Penny Dreadful is a Record Breaker, about a girl who wants to break a world record, will be used as the basis for the lesson.
The Right Worshipful Mayor of Bath, Councillor Andrew Furse, and Education Reporter, Siobhan Prideaux, will be independent witnesses at the event which will take place between 9.45 and 10.15am in the Sports Hall of King Edward’s Junior School.
