One of the leading co-educational schools in the country, Reigate Grammar School has educated young people since its founding in 1675. RGS offers a modern, vibrant education based on traditional grammar school principles. We aim to provide a happy and caring environment in which both boys and girls thrive. We want them to enjoy their time at school in the belief that, in doing so, they will also be successful within and outside the classroom.

Academic excellence...Reigate Grammar School has been ranked in the top three per cent of UK schools in a national report into success rates of students gaining places at the UK’s top 30 highly selective universities. The recent report, undertaken by The Sutton Trust, places RGS higher than renowned schools such as Eton College, Whitgift School and Wellington College. When compared to all other co-educational day schools within the UK, Reigate Grammar School achieved 12th place.

A happy atmosphere...Key to Reigate Grammar School’s success is a happy atmosphere with students who obviously enjoy school life, combined with excellent academic standards, a busy sporting calendar and first class music and drama productions. Visitors regularly comment on the unique atmosphere at RGS which results from affirmative interaction between students and teachers. Students are encouraged to make the most of the many opportunities open to them and to try out the extensive range of extra-curricular activities on offer. The school is one of the largest Duke of Edinburgh Award’s Scheme centres in Surrey and has an active Combined Cadet Force. It is the quality of the extra-curricular offering that stands RGS apart.

First class facilities...RGS’ facilities combine the best of the school’s long heritage with purpose-built facilities. A carefully planned development programme has recently seen the completion of a 3m science and humanities building, an indoor swimming pool, a purpose-built music school and a caf in the school’s Sixth Form Centre. 32 acres of sports ground at RGS’ Hartswood site include rugby, hockey, cricket and football pitches, flood-lit Astro-turf pitch and pavilion with changing facilities.

Scholarships and bursaries…RGS offers a wide range of scholarships and bursaries with up to 100 per cent reduction on fees available.

Working open afternoons…Prospective parents and pupils are welcome to look around the school while it is in action at one of the regular open afternoons. Open afternoons take place throughout the school year and spaces are bookable by contacting the Admissions Secretary, Mrs Diane Kennedy. In addition to open afternoons, RGS holds an annual Saturday open morning each Autumn Term.

Interested parents and pupils are most welcome to attend one of the many concerts or drama productions held throughout the year. Full details of forthcoming events are available on the website: www.reigategrammar.org
