Rowan Preparatory School is a dynamic, forward thinking school with an excellent reputation. We prepare girls (aged 3-11) for the challenges they will face in life, helping them to develop self-awareness, compassion and respect. Rowan is a school where girls excel but, above all, it is a school where girls are happy.
“Our aim is to develop girls' love of learning, academic potential and individual talents in a caring community which fosters confidence, sensitivity and an enthusiasm for all that life has to offer,” says Mrs Kathy Kershaw, Headteacher.
As a member of the United Learning family, Rowan shares the objective of bringing out ‘the best in everyone’, enabling each pupil to face the future as educated, caring and confident people, able to make a valuable contribution to society. Within this context, means tested bursary places are available and we do all we can to broaden access to the school.
Learning at RowanAt Rowan the curriculum is rich and exciting, challenging and engaging. We believe that children learn best through first hand experiences and our girls have plenty of opportunities for ‘Adventurous Learning’.
We follow a creative curriculum which encourages the girls to become independent learners, and use their initiative to take risks whilst learning to work collaboratively and to be creative and curious about the world around them.
