The Royal Alexandra and Albert School is a boarding school for girls and boys aged seven to 18. As one of a handful of state boarding schools in the UK we are able to offer exceptional boarding education at a fraction of the cost of many other boarding schools.
We are the only state boarding school to take junior boarders and many pupils remain at the school from the age of seven until they complete their Sixth Form studies at 18. In addition to high quality teaching, pupils enjoy outstanding pastoral care, top-class facilities and packed schedule of activities.
Excellent results combined with affordable fees make this school the first choice for many parents seeking a boarding education for their child.
Set in 260 acres of glorious parkland, it is an ideal location for young people to live and learn.
Boarding housesThere are eight senior boarding houses and one junior boarding house. The houses are mostly purpose-built and provide a secure and welcoming place to live, work and play. In September 2010 annexes were built on two of the senior boarding houses which include 21 ensuite study bedrooms for sixth formers. Two more annexes will be completed soon.

Full boarding Full boarders live at the School during term time. After Saturday lessons there is the option to go home for the weekend and around half our boarders take this option. They return on Sunday evening ready and rested for lessons on Monday morning.
Activities Pupils benefit from the many activities that are available at a boarding school. The school has its own swimming pool and riding stables which many pupils take full advantage of after the formal school day has ended. They can also take part in many other activities including rugby, football, Scouts, dance, fishing, kayaking or the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme, to name but a few.
As a boarding school, the Royal Alexandra and Albert School has a lot going for it. Not many boarding schools can boast such a beautiful location, steeped in history, which provides so many opportunities for children to learn, and achieves such great results.
