As committed, professional, educators we believe that within any learning community there should be a continuous search for development and growth. Through our Academic and Pastoral Boards we have been monitoring and evaluating the educational provision we offer our pupils and believe we can do more.
Educating our pupils in single sex classes enabled a smooth transition when boys joined the Senior School in 2005. Now that boys and girls are successfully integrated throughout the Senior School we have begun to explore the merits of “setting” our pupils on the basis of ability rather than gender. We believe that as a fully co-educational school we will be able to offer our pupils a comprehensive, forward-thinking, curriculum that will maximise each individual’s academic potential. Together with the traditional values we all believe are so important, and our Christian ethos, we will continue to ensure that our pupils are fully prepared for life in the twenty-first century both academically and socially.
Boarding continues to be a central and growing part of life at Stover and we are delighted to announce that a bespoke boarding house is being developed in a part of Clock House, designed to accommodate an additional fourteen boarders. Our boarding community gives an international flavour to Stover and enhances the cultural experience of all our pupils. Stover’s fine reputation and tradition of boarding has enabled us to expand this area of the school and we look forward to the opportunity to welcome boys as well as girls into our boarding community.
The Board of Governors is fully committed to providing the very best educational experience for all our pupils, at all stages of their education, and know that the demand for an independent education such as ours continues to be high. The Governors believe that the planned changes are essential to ensure we sustain our current strong position and our long term success.
