Westonbirt Prep are celebrating after making the Sunday Times list of ‘Top 100 Independent Prep Schools in England’ at number 88 from over 1,000 prep schools in the country
The annual Parent Power listings rank schools in England according to achievement in their most recent examination results. Westonbirt Prep has consistently performed above the national expectations in SAT’s tests at Year 6. This year 94% of the cohort achieved above the national standard in Maths and 84% above in Reading.
Westonbirt Prep does not select pupils on academic achievement preferring instead to value and nurture its inclusive intake in small classes with expert teachers who deliver a broad curriculum including competitive sport, swimming, music, drama and art alongside a wide spectrum of academic subjects.
Leaving pupils mostly attend their first choice of secondary school and are often awarded scholarships on entry. Destinations include Westonbirt School, other local top independent schools and the Gloucestershire grammar schools. Westonbirt Prep has seen a rise in numbers over the last few years and has added additional classes to ensure the model of small numbers in each form remains throughout the school.
