The Spa at Mottram has launched Elemis as its house brand, to the delight of both staff and guests.

Mottram Hall Hotel & Spa has introduced Elemis to the Spa, thrilling all who are already familiar with this luxury skincare brand.

‘I couldn’t be happier,’ says Spa Operations Manager Stephanie Parry. ‘I have worked with Elemis for almost my entire career before coming here and I have such respect for the brand.’

Elemis is a multi-award winning British brand created over 25 years ago. It works to a single ethos: results-driven products defined by nature, led by science. While their collections may feel delightfully luxurious and pampering (especially when applied by a talented, Elemis-trained therapist) they all work hard to address the many and varied skin and ageing concerns of men and women across the globe.

‘Co-founder Noella Gabriel is such an inspiring woman,’ says Stephanie. ‘I can’t wait for the therapist team here to further their skills and their career with such a globally respected brand.’

Mottram Hall Hotel & Spa has a new owner, the name of which can’t yet be announced, but trust me, when you learn who it is you’ll be pretty excited! Suffice to say their whole ethos is based upon making their guests feel amazing. The first sign of their commitment to taking The Spa at Mottram to the next level is of course the introduction of Elemis, the next is the £10m investment they are making in 2019 on refurbishing this already luxurious property, with major changes to the spa on the cards.

‘The objective is to make the Spa at Mottram a destination spa in its own right, somewhere that will draw people from across Cheshire and beyond,’ says Stephanie. ‘Having seen their plans and met the team, it’s absolutely going to happen.’

I’d argue that Stephanie herself will be a major component in the new owner’s success in achieving this objective; her passion for the spa, her team and what they can deliver for their guests shines from her. She’s clearly proud of everything the Spa has to offer and so happy to have Elemis in-house that she can’t stop extolling its virtues. I’m already sold, a life-long Elemis fan with a penchant for their extraordinary facials.

‘We have a team of 18 therapists here,’ she says. ‘We offer treatments from 9.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday and from 8.30am to 5.30pm on weekends. When we recruit we focus on finding therapists who bring with them the attitude that reflects our approach to customer satisfaction here. They need to have a drive and ambition to be the very best they can be and so deliver the very best experience anybody having a treatment here could hope for.

‘It’s my role to look after all the therapists and make sure that they’re happy and content in their work here, which then cascades to every client that they interact with. This approach fits perfectly with what we have experienced in all our interactions with Elemis so far. They are so focussed on education and on giving us the tools we need to deliver outstanding experiences for our customers, every time.’

The Spa already boasts a rather elegant indoor pool and relaxation area, complete with colonnaded hot tub and also the UK’s only al fresco thermospace, with slightly out of the ordinary chill-out opportunities.

This includes the Brechelbath room, releasing bursts of steam with an invigorating alpine fragrance and Mineral Stonebath, where a basket of super heated stones is lowered at regular intervals into cool water, resulting in bursts of steam and a slow increase in room temperature and humidity – a gentle and relaxing way to soften muscles and release tension. There’s also a hot tub, in which you can soak to bring your body to a state of utter relaxation. It’s all rather blissful, to be honest. Add a treatment (or two) and your day will be positively joyous.

‘We introduced the midweek Elemis Spa Day,’ says Stephanie. ‘It’s only £79 and as well as the use of the spa facilities all day, customers will enjoy a 50 minute Face & Body Sensation treatment and take home a special Elemis gift set worth £38. Or you could do a Spa stay, with dinner, bed and breakfast and a fabulous Elemis facial, plus the gift set, from just £119.’

Oh, go on then…
