What would you say are the key trends for this season? Understated luxury and slouchy tailoring.
Which do you think will be your best-selling item this month? Anything really special that we don’t have many of, as people know that quantities and sizes are limited. Our Ash shoes now have a huge following, too, and tend to fly out of the shop early in the season.

What are your three hottest brands/labels in the store? We have three new labels for spring/summer, which should create a buzz. Humanoid is a Dutch label specialising in layering luxurious fabrics and interesting shapes; APC Madras is young, fun and colourful; and Zoe Tee’s is a very cool, French jersey-based collection.
Is there a particular celebrity’s style you admire and why? We love the style of fashion journalist Louise Roe, and actress Thandie Newton always looks amazing, too.
What’s your best buy right now? Our Hudson boots look as great with a pretty summer dress as they do with jeans, so will take you right through the summer into autumn. Is there anything you would recommend for the guys? Our first season with Superdry was a great success, so we are really expanding our range for spring. Anyone looking for the perfect pair of jeans will be in luck, too. We have something for everyone and Paul, the owner, is our resident expert, knowing everything there is to know about jeans.
If someone was going to buy one key item this season, what should it be? A boyfriend-style blazer. We have something to suit everyone – from Pyrus’ 80s-style, oversized jacket and Day’s tailored suit jacket to Zoe Tee’s jersey version – wear it with absolutely anything to add an instant update. Also, a pair of Paige ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ skinny boyfriend jeans. Team with a slouchy washed silk blazer from Humanoid and a Zoe Tee’s t-shirt for the daytime, and dress them up with some gorgeous heels and a beautiful Day Birger et Mikkelsen blouse in the evening.
Is there anyone in Surrey whose style you particularly admire? Anyone who is confident with their own style and doesn’t slavishly follow trends. I love the way our customers shop around, mixing clothes from Gerrards with high-street favourites Topshop and Zara and vintage finds.
In the competitive fashion industry, what do you think are the ingredients for success? Good service, honesty and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
What would be your top tip for people visiting your store? Reigate is a lovely shopping destination with some fabulous independent shops and cafs, so do take the time to walk the full length of the High Street, Bell Street and Church Street; some of the gems are away from the centre but well worth a visit. But, beware the two hour parking rule in Morrisons car park – it is stringently adhered to!
