After Christmas is the perfect time to revamp your look, with so many bargains to be had in the January sales. If you don’t shop often, it’s worth investing in two or three classic items that’ll take you right through the colder months and be worn again next year. Not sure what to buy? Here’s our pick of this year’s top trends at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway and how to work the look.

Lady in red

Dolce & Gabbana led the way on the catwalk, showcasing reds in every hue and the high street looks set to follow this year. Whatever your skin tone, there’s a shade for you, so whether it’s scarlet, oxblood or ruby, ravish them in rouge. And remember, this isn’t just for the ladies, gents can rock the red as well with Burgundy and Bordeaux shirts being the must-have item.

Artistic layering

Artistic prints and folk inspired fabrics are big news right now. Wear long, flowing scarves or blanket wraps over your coat and belt over them for that Burberry-inspired, Cara Delevigne style. Why not add soft suede accessories and fringing to complete the look? The good news is that any age, shape or size can rock this trend.

Military style

The high street’s going khaki crazy this winter, but it’s a luxury look we’ll be coveting this time around. From simple wool pants to luxuriously crafty leathers and coats with frogging, this style is rugged and ideal for urban adventures.

Sales are a great time to pick up some of the season’s key looks at a fraction of the price and, with so many great stores on offer at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Soft tailoring

Trousers are a great office look this season; wear them with a fitted jacket for a comfortable yet chic look. Alternatively, long line jackets are also bang on trend – pair with slim fitting cigarette pants or 7/8 trousers to slim down your silhouette. Think 90s minimalist rather than 80s power dressing.

Faux fur

It’s set to be a long, dark winter, so thank goodness that fashion’s gone practical this season. Wrap up warm in faux fur coats and trimmed boots, safe in the knowledge that you’ll be bang on trend this year. The good news is that this look rarely goes out of style, so you should be able to dig it out again next year.
