Nana Akua, celebrity trainer, TV presenter and owner of LadyXsize ( finds an exciting way to dance yourself fit in the county

If you love Strictly Come Dancing and have visions of yourself doing the cha cha cha, jive, tango and the fabulously sensual rumba, then why not incorporate these as part of your fitness regime and take up FitSteps? Created by Natalie Lowe, Ian Waite and swimmer Mark Foster, its popularity is gaining momentum. Don’t be fooled by the apparent effortlessness of the moves, FitSteps will help you tone and burn some serious calories. Classes are springing up all over the county. I caught up with Natalie at one of the instructor training sessions and she told me, ‘I am constantly being blown away by the stories and feedback from our FitSteppers, which keeps us pushing forward to make more great routines. I am passionate to get the nation healthy through dance.’

If you fancy something a bit more unusual then try Nia Dance – a fusion of dancing, martial arts and healing. Using Tae Kwon Do style kicks, blocks and punches mixed with jazz and contemporary dance, it’s ideal for all fitness levels.

You can find Michele Kaye’s Nia Dance sessions ( in Berkhamsted, Kings Langley and Chesham.
