How to get the medical help you need now with a private doctor

Q: Why might I need to see a private doctor?

A: If you don’t feel like you’re getting the support and care you want with your current GP, a private doctor may be the solution.

Every patient deserves to be given as much time as they need, and feel confident in the advice from their doctor.

Especially now; I worry that many people may be holding back from seeing their GP due to the pandemic, and although this is understandable, not addressing something with your doctor now could lead to long term, more damaging health issues in the future

We have eight doctors, all of which have extensive general practice experience, plus a management and office support team.

We deliberately keep our patient list low to allow doctors the extra time to really get to know you and your medical needs. Each patient is allocated a personal doctor, who they can build a strong relationship with and trust with any concerns.

Q: Can my doctor visit me at home?

A: Home visits are at the heart of our service – they’re incredibly convenient and discreet, and provide a personal touch. Online GPs can work for some, but if you have a physical problem, home visits enable doctors to effectively examine it and reach a diagnosis.

We’re still doing home visits during the pandemic, while wearing the necessary PPE of course. From a mental health point of view especially, it’s crucial that we don’t stop this, as many people in the Cotswolds are quite isolated.

We’re only a phone call away whenever a patient needs us. You can call us any time - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We never turn the practice telephone line off – even at night! And we have doctors on call at weekends to come out to you if needed.

Q: Can I ask my doctor to refer me to a specialist?

A: As an independent health service, we can refer you to a local consultant or a Harley Street specialist if that’s more convenient.

We have direct contact with an extensive list of specialists, meaning patients don’t have to be put on a waiting list for an appointment.

Q: How much does a private doctor cost?

A: Our monthly membership fee is from £80 for an individual and £120 for a couple. This covers all home visits, round-the-clock professional advice and any medications provided. Private prescriptions, standard letters and referrals are free and doctors make no charge for their time.
