Father’s Day treats
Father’s Day this month is a great excuse to treat the man in your life to some cool natural and organic gifts. The ubiquitous socks of last resort can in fact be the perfect gift – if they are made from bamboo, super-soft and last for ages – see bambooclothing.co.uk for their funky range.
Like all mums, all dads also love chocolate, so treat him to one of the artisan flavours from organic chocolate company Seed and Bean. There’s Sicilian Hazelnut and Almond, Cornish Sea Salt and Rasberry and Vanilla in the 18-strong range. They also create hamper boxes, with ‘dark’, ‘favourites’ or make up your own. Go for the ‘complete collection’ if you just can’t choose (seedandbean.co.uk).
Male grooming has become very big and there are some lovey natural products especially for guys. I recommend the Homme Organic range from Green People available online at greenpeople.co.uk or in Herts health stores. I’ve also got a soft spot for the lovely skincare range from Pure Lakes (purelakes.co.uk). They even do balms especially for hard working hands and feet. I’m currently loving the First Aid for Aching Feet – shhh, my feet don’t know it’s for men!
You will be well aware of the current trend of adult colouring books. It’s wonderfully (and surprisingly) therapeutic to relax and colour in, just like you did when you were a child. But if intricate mandalas aren’t your thing, check out the new and uplifting colouring book from Kings Langley-based illustrator Stu Mclellan. The Heavens and the Earth, published by Hodder, has charming landscapes and beautiful verses for you to colour in and get inspired.

Janey Loves awards
I’m thrilled to announce that entries are open for the 2016 Janey Loves Platinum Awards. Alongside my votes we have some esteemed judges this year including TV and radio presenter Zoe Ball, Dr Marilyn Glenville, singer and presenter Carrie Grant and best-selling author and editor of What Doctors Don’t Tell You Lynne Mactaggart. We aim to recognise the best in natural organic and eco products but your vote is hugely important too, so check out the entries as they come in at janeyloves.co.uk and vote for your faves.
