Self confessed ‘petrol head’, Chris Williams, has taken his first step on the career ladder in the automotive world by landing an Apprenticeship at Brayley Honda on Two Waters Road in Hemel Hempstead.
The nineteen year-old, who is from Berkhamsted, joined the dealership on his birthday, after being interviewed for the new role of Parts Apprentice. Chris has begun his training on Honda UK’s Parts Apprenticeship scheme, which will take two years to complete, including studies at the Honda Institute in Colnbrook, near Slough.
Also a keen photographer of cars, Chris was recently approached by BBC Top Gear magazine to take some photos of supercars in London after seeing some of his own work posted on the internet.
Commented Chris Williams:
“I’ve always been interested in all things automotive so I was keen to look at this industry for a career, whilst maintaining my passion for photography. An Apprenticeship with Brayley Honda enables me to earn while I learn so I’m looking forward to working through the programme and achieving the qualification.”
Having started his own career as an apprentice motor technician, Paul Brayley, Managing Director, Brayley Honda, is keen to support the ambitions of young people wanting to enter the retail motor industry. Chris is the newest member of staff to join the team at Hemel Hempstead and one of three apprentices at the dealership, the other two being employed in the workshop.

Paul Brayley, Managing Director, Brayley Honda, said:
“Our business is about empowering people to do the best they can for our customers as well as for their own professional development. An Apprenticeship provides an excellent start to life in the motor trade and I’m pleased that Chris has joined the group at an exciting time for our Hemel dealership which is soon to undergo a complete refurbishment. The next few months will be incredibly busy and a good opportunity for the whole team to rise to the challenge.”
As part of Honda Europe’s new branding, the Two Waters Road dealership begins a two month refurbishment at the end of October, which is among the first group of UK Honda dealers to upgrade.
