Chrysler Jeep is back on Marsh Barton, Exeter, with a new dealer and a whole new range of vehicles. Vincent Exeter are proud to have been entrusted with the franchise for Exeter and the South West.

Previously part-owned by Mercedez-Benz, Chrysler Jeep has, from October 2010, been owned by Fiat, a company with resources and technology that make them an undisputed world leader in the manufacture and development of energy efficient power units and up to the minute style.

The transition from Mercedes-Benz to Fiat has not been without its teething problems; acquiring such an iconic global company and preserving yet improving such an impressive heritage has unfortunately caused delays and problems for customers in the West Country.

With Vincent Exeter, operations are back on track for sales, service and parts, however, with new ownership of the brand has come the latest technology, massive investment and virtually all new models; once again putting Chrysler Jeep in front of the game.

The best parts of the Chrysler Jeep technology and the heritage inherited from the Mercedes-Benz involvement has been retained in the new product, however, the 21st century technology available from the new parent company has now been combined too, including European-friendly design, (that means a move away from outback USA ruggedness and more of a move towards plush soft-touch interiors that are finally crafted with an artisan’s eye for detail), economical and efficient power units and bespoke ordering; resulting in much shorter lead times.

With the exception of the world beating, Grand Voyager – updated for 2011, the Chrysler product range is so removed from what was previously available, that you would be forgiven for believing that these vehicles were not Chrysler products at all. The all-new Chrysler Ypsilon super-mini is achieving an incredible 73.5mpg on a combined cycle and most importantly, has the added benefit of zero road tax.

Also, the all-new, but larger Chrysler Delta also has super impressive mpg figures and a range of options that include the incredible ‘Automatic Parking’ facility. Although standard specification also includes more room and luxury than its similar sized competitors.

As far as the Jeep line-up is concerned, the renowned, go anywhere Grand Cherokee 3.0 litre V6 diesel automatic is all new for 2011 and now offers the kind of finish and extras that are normally only available on a luxury SUV that costs twice the price. Incorporating innovative engineering that includes wonders like the Quadra Lift, Selec-Terain, Adaptive Cruise Control and amenities such as the CommandView dual pane panoramic sunroof, it’s no wonder that the Grand Cherokee is in such demand.

The smaller and incredibly stylish Compass is also all new for 2011 and comes in a choice of either 4X2, (two driving wheels) or 4X4 and both are available in either petrol or diesel options, although for 2011 the automatic is only available on the petrol model. The 4x4 Compass comes with the Freedom Drive I 4WD system as standard. This includes a LOCK function that sends an equal amount of power to the front and rear wheels for maximum traction. The perfect blend of on-road economy and off-road confidence.

An updated Wrangler - the original trailblazer, is the epitome of Comfort and Ruggedness and adds to the improved Jeep range, with a whole new Chrysler 300C saloon arriving in the new year.

Paul Nightingale, Managing Director of Vincent Exeter says “we are very proud to be offering Chrylser Jeep vehicles to the South-West again. It has been a long time coming and whilst we will continue to sell the high performance, luxury sport and salon cars that we have stocked in the past, it was just too great an opportunity to pass up".

When asked where the challenges lay in adopting such a well known brand, Paul Nightingale responded: “ the product has an undisputed pedigree, although there is perhaps a perception of the Jeep product being a ‘gas guzzler,’ with less luxurious interiors. Nothing could be further from reality. The whole new range just oozes style and efficiency; and our challenge is to show our existing and potential customers precisely this”

Vincent Chrysler-Jeep is now available for enquiries for service, parts, and warranty issues with the new range available for viewing and demonstration from October 20th.
