The new 50m McLaren supercar factory in Woking has been officially opened today by Prime Minister David Cameron.
McLaren chairman Ron Dennis led a tour of the state-of-the-art McLaren Production Centre, which is on the same site as the group's Formula 1 headquarters where Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and the team’s designers and technicians already work on their latest racers.
The new facility will manufacture McLaren’s high performance sports cars, including the new MP4-12C, which costs over 150,000 and has already sold out during the first year's production.
Earlier in the day, on his way to Woking, the Prime Minister stopped in at Foxhills country club and resort in Ottershaw.
