The Donalds Group, one of the region’s longest-serving car groups, is gearing up for the exciting all-new XC90 premium sport utility vehicle – the much-heralded model that will relaunch and mark a new era for the brand.

Valued by Volvo as one of the Swedish company’s consistently highest-performing dealers in the country for customer satisfaction and a territory leader in retail sales, the dealership took over Ipswich’s Volvo franchise in 2009 and hasn’t looked back as both dealer and manufacturer have gone from strength to strength.

Carl Morris, general manager at Donalds Volvo in West End Road, said: “Next year is going to be an exciting year for us as we see the arrival of the much-anticipated XC90. The sneak previews we’ve seen so far have already whet the appetite of many of our customers and we know that when the first model arrives in our showroom, it’s presence will be jaw-dropping to everyone who sees it.

“The New XC90’s combination of luxury, space, versatility, efficiency and safety will bring the sport utility vehicle segment into a new dimension – just as the original XC90 did back in 2002.”

Marketing manager Benjamin Grant said: “Volvo is a fantastic brand that enjoys great loyalty from its customers – it’s a great fit with us and the way we do business.”

The all-new seven-seat XC90 – boasting world-leading safety features, new powertrain technologies and a combination of power and fuel efficiency – marks a new chapter in Volvo’s history, capturing its future design direction and incorporating its own range of new technologies.

The £45,000 D5 AWD Momentum is now available to order with customer deliveries starting in May.

It debuts the face of Volvo’s next generation of cars with a prominent iron mark logo and T-shaped ‘Thor’s Hammer’ daytime running lights. The larger bonnet, beltline and sharpened shoulders connecting with distinctive new rear lights are other important design signatures.

The XC90 offers a range of 2.0-litre, four-cylinder Drive-E powertrains. The range-topping XC90 Twin Engine combines a 2.0-litre, supercharged and turbocharged petrol unit with an electric motor for around 400hp and 60g/km CO2.

Volvo says its XC90 offers the automotive industry’s most comprehensive and technologically-sophisticated standard safety package while the interior is its most luxurious ever with a tablet-like touchscreen control console – the heart of an all-new in-car control system which can access internet-based products and services.

The genuine seven-seater features new, innovative seats that free up space for passengers in the second and third rows – the latter offers class-leading comfort for two passengers up to 170cm tall.
