For most 15-year-old boys, the closest they will get to a supercar is sitting on their sofa at home, watching the Grand Prix. However, Will Kemp is getting up close and personal with cars that are worth thousands of pounds around the county, and even abroad.

‘It’s just a personal interest,’ said Will, who attends The King’s School in Macclesfield. ‘In 2013, I just started to photograph these amazing cars I would see. From then on more of my time became invested into it.’

The year ten pupil travels from his home in Bollington to supercar showrooms around the county, including Ferrari in Wilmslow and McClaren in Knutsford, to take photographs of the high-performance sports cars.

‘It’s really enjoyable,’ he said. ‘I have made lots of friends with same interests from doing it. Four or five times a year I travel to London to meet a few friends I met through social media and we take photographs of the cars there.’

The aspiring automotive photographer and videographer has gained a popular following on social media, and regularly updates his Instagram, Twitter and YouTube accounts with what he has been working on and where.

‘We go on holiday twice a year to Marbella, Spain, and there are lots of cars to see there so I take my camera with me,’ said Will, who received a new camera as a gift last Christmas. ‘I also go with a friend to Monaco to watch and photograph cars at the annual Top Marques live supercar show.’

Once he has finished his GSCEs, Will hopes to pursue a course in photography and continue his dream to become a professional photographer. ‘The popularity of my photographs has taken me by surprise. A gentleman from Wilmslow recently invited me to take photos of his supercar. Eventually, I would like to build up enough revenue to buy my own!’
