The marketing consultant from Broadstairs on her favourite multi-functional outfit

Tell us a bit about you

My name is Jo Reynolds and I run my own fashion and lifestyle PR and marketing consultancy. PR can be done anywhere, so despite working across international brands, I’m based by the seaside, which makes a lot of my friends quite jealous.

I am also a part-time lecturer in PR and Marketing at the Fashion Retail Academy in central London, so I’m kept pretty busy.

What are you wearing?

I really prefer tailoring in any colour as long as it’s black, grey, navy and white! I do love colour, but I tend to use it as a highlight.

You’ll usually find me wearing a smart jacket with tailored trousers or jeans that I can either dress up with heels or give a sporty edge to with flat loafers or trainers.

This is a multi-functional outfit that’s perfect for going to a client meeting, has the professional look for standing in front of a class of 25 students and is comfortable to wear going out with friends after a class!

I like to mix designer with high street and my jacket is classic Joseph, always my choice if I’m looking for something that going to be a staple of my wardrobe.

As I’m quite small I find buying trousers a problem, despite all the petite ranges available. I really wanted a pair that were slightly cropped and would look good with any type of shoe. I got these from Joseph and wear them all the time.

The white T-shirt is from Zara, I love their clothing, so I do buy pieces there on a regular basis, and the trainers are from the Swedish shoe brand Vagabond.

I absolutely love the orange, which adds a definite flash of bold colour against the monochrome outfit. These are a one off as Vagabond didn’t produce the orange to sell, so I cornered the press sample for myself!

The jewellery is from the wonderful designer Sophie Harley, who made the jewellery for the James Bond movie Casino Royale so I always feel very special wearing her pieces. The bag is the black leather mock croc Bayswater from Mulberry.

I like to invest in a good bag that will last forever and can be passed onto the next generation.

Where do you live?

I live in Broadstairs, moving here nearly a year ago from the north Kent border. I was a regular visitor over many years and always thought how wonderful it would be to live by the seaside. There’s always something going on here - Folk Week, the Food Festival, the best ice cream at Morellis and wonderful micro breweries.

Where do you like to shop?

I’ve become a regular visitor to Margate Old Town, which is full of retro and vintage clothing shops. A friend and I rummage in the charity shops, where I’ve picked up some real finds. I adore Canterbury too and the wonderful high street, where you can browse at a leisurely pace. n
