This service is run by our specialist weight loss team including Consultant Gastrointestinal Surgeon Christopher Wong, specialist bariatric dietician, specialist bariatric nurse and behavioural therapist.

Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital is proud to announce the pioneering technique of Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) for insertion of gastric band. With SILS gastric band, the gastric band is inserted through a single small incision as opposed to 5-6 incisions with conventional keyhole surgery. This pioneering technique improves recovery with less pain and therefore reduces the risk of developing thromboembolism from delayed ambulation.
