March is without a doubt one of my favourite months of the year. After a long winter, spring is within touching distance. It is a month for celebrating mothers, new beginnings and a feeling of renewed optimism.

In the beauty world, March is also about new beginnings as refreshing spring scents, lighter creams and colourful palettes wing their way onto the shelves. This month, I’m going to talk you through some of the new feel-good beauty products on the market.

The first thing to get me excited this month is the new organic Body Oils range that has been released by Neom Organics in time for spring. The one that has really caught my attention is called Complete Bliss (£30, John Lewis). It contains Moroccan rose, black pepper, lime, jojoba and vitamin A and E to repair and pamper your skin. It also smells wonderfully sexy and uplifting.

If you’re after a scent that promises pure escapism then it has to be the Orange and Bergamot cream from the new Molton Brown Replenishing Hand Cream range (£10, House of Fraser). The combination of Seville orange oil and white truffle extract make this a really beautiful and effective cream.

Sometimes it can be scary to wear colour on your lips, especially if it’s not something that you’re used to. I for one always accentuate my eyes and tend to leave my lips fairly neutral. However, if there was ever a time to give colour a go, now is it. The product that is guaranteed to get you over your fear is the new Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist (£29, John Lewis). This subtle tinted balm comes in a range of great colours and is another take on the famous Clinique Chubby Sticks. What I love about this product is how plumped and healthy your lips feel on application (which is down to the high quality plant-based ingredients) and how easy it is to wear.

Another product that I have been raving about to anyone who will listen is Guerlain’s Maxi Lash mascara. This was released last year and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get round to trialling it. If you make one change to your makeup bag this month, let this be it. Your lashes will look long and healthy without being over the top and clumpy. In my opinion it is one of the best mascaras on the market and is £23 from House of Fraser.

I hope you have a fantastic March and enjoy getting in the spring mood, even if it is still just a little bit chilly.

Mother’s Day Treats

As a soon-to-be mother, I’m extra excited about Mother’s Day this year. Whether you’re buying or hoping to receive a gift, here are a couple of ideas.

This year is the 10th anniversary of Elemis Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules (£62, timetospa.co.uk). These award-winning capsules are made of moringa oil and my own mother absolutely swears by them. They are intensely anti-ageing and will help make the skin glow.

For the ultimate treat what about a pamper session for mum at a lovely hotel? My personal favourite is The Pig Hotel in Brockenhurst (thepighotel.com). You can have a wonderful beauty treatment in the privacy of the Potting Shed, which is an actual garden shed that has been transformed into a treatment room. Make sure you treat yourself (or mum) to one of their incredible meals after the treatment too!
