Sir Michael Parkinson officially launched the new expanded oncology wing, The Oak Suite, at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital on Tuesday 4 April.

The Oak Suite has been developed following an investment of over half a million pounds and includes additional chemotherapy treatment space, an enlarged oncology waiting area and new consulting rooms. It has been designed with a particular focus on patient care, reflecting the ethos of the hospital.

David Richardson, Hospital Director, Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital commented: “The Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital is renowned across the region for clinical excellence in oncology and exceptional patient care. We are delighted that we now have the facilities to offer our cancer services to even more patients in the area and were thrilled that Sir Michael was able to officially launch our new oncology wing.”

At the launch event, Sir Michael Parkinson, who attended with Lady Mary Parkinson added: “It’s so important to take the fear out of cancer – and this is exactly what such an environment and the team do here at the Nuffield Hospital in Guildford. They do an extraordinary job.”

Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital has over 200 highly qualified medical specialists and is renowned for its medical and surgical excellence in bowel, liver and other complex conditions. Its oncology unit offers complex chemotherapy, with radiotherapy provided by St Luke’s Cancer Centre.
