Nestled in the foothills of the South Downs just outside Midhurst lies Park House Hotel and its glorious spa, PH2O. Glorious not only for the setting, which is enviable, but also the top notch treatments and above all, the staff.
They really could not be more cheerful, helpful and relaxed. Never effusive but always ready to put you at your ease, their influence on what is already a charming establishment is immeasurable.
The spa’s signature Kerstin Florian facials were a revolution to my face, which could kindly be described as sun-kissed, but more realistically is well on its way to being weathered, thanks to the amount of time I spend outside. But take care not to disregard the massages, which are comparable to any top enterprise that you might care to find in this or any other country. The spa menu offers everything from mud wraps and exfoliating scrubs to beauty treatments, and men are both welcomed and well-catered for.
After your treatment, unwind in the jacuzzi, tackle some lengths in one of the two pools, lie out in the sunshine, or enjoy a delicious lunch from the spa menu, where options range from salad and sandwiches to larger, equally delicious dishes. This hidden gem is well worth a visit.
