Why have you chosen the clothes for the shoot?

Carl: I was advised on what to wear for the shoot, if it was up to me I would have been far less adventurous. I would have never considered a blue suit! But I think it looks great and fits like a dream.Nicole: I have chosen these clothes for the shoot as they are rather different to kinds of clothes I usually wear. I tend to stick to black dresses so I wanted to try something different. At first I was reluctant to try on the trousers but I love them.Brenda: Nutmeg recommended these clothes but made sure I felt comfortable in them.

Are they what you would usually wear for festive parties/going out?Carl: If I was going to a party I would normally opt for a suit and shirt but wouldn’t go for bold colours, I’m usually a black and white man. Bright colour is the future!Nicole: No, I wouldn’t think to wear anything other than dresses or skirts to go out partying but would certainly consider wearing something like this now.Brenda: I would often wear a “little black dress” and add accessories to liven it up. I wouldn’t have chosen these clothes but I like the way the belt accentuates my waist and the shape of the skirt is very comfortable and flattering.

If money was no object what would you wear?

Carl: I would wear tailor-made designer suits all the time! Although I might make an exception when I visit the gym.Nicole: I would spend an awful lot of money on shoes as I love my high heels! I would invest in some vintage and one-off pieces that I would never normally be able to afford.Brenda: I would wear fabrics that feel wonderful to wear, cashmere, silk and beautiful soft leather boots. And a huge selection of shoes and handbags, of course.

Do you have a style role model?

Carl: No one in particular, I just like what I like. I have in the past been compared to a young George Clooney!Nicole: Not really, although I like to see what trends my friends are wearing and steal ideas from them.Brenda: I wouldn’t say I have a role model, but I love the way Helen Mirren dresses. She’s elegant, stylish, always dresses to suit her age and still looks very sexy.

Waitrose seem to take care in choosing the uniforms they provide you with...do you like them?

Carl: I’m a big fan of the new uniform, it’s really practical, looks professional and best of all it looks sharp. Nicole: I really like them. I think they are comfortable easy to look after and actually quite fashionable.Brenda: Yes,they look professional and are comfortable to wear and work in.

So, what was the verdict back at the store?Waitrose Bury St Edmunds branch manager Brian Cooper said that the store’s team were very complimentary about the ladies dresses. “Comments ranged from how good the ladies looked and how sexy Carl appeared!” he laughed.

With thanks to Six Whiting Street, Bury St Edmunds, who supplied Carl’s clothes and Nutmeg of Long Melford who supplied Nicole and Brenda with their outfits.
