Welcome to the new you

Hands up if you have something in your wardrobe that you fell in love with on the hanger, but have only worn once . . . or more likely never!
Hands up if you are in awe of women who seem to instinctively know what suits them, who look fabulous even when they’re dressed down – wouldn’t it be brilliant to know how to dress and look that way?
A few years ago Sue Dougal would have counted herself among those with their hands firmly in the air at these two questions. But thanks to Norwich stylist Chrissi Rix, she now shops confidently and creatively because she knows exactly what to buy and what to avoid – and the result is she looks fantastic!
Sue explains: “When we became friends we wondered how we could make more women feel like that - comfortable in their own skin and more confident about themselves.” And so, The Style Show was born.
Launching this month, as part of Norwich Fashion Week, The Style Show is Chrissi and Sue’s new fashion advice and shopping concept, which they hope will entertain, inform and style women across the county.
“It’s not a fashion show – it’s going to be informative but in a fun, relaxed way,” says Chrissi. “The audience can find out why some things look good on them and some don’t work for them, how to build an outfit and accessorise, how to save money by buying the right clothes, knowing their colours aand shapes. It will be really interactive.
Sue adds: “It’s about women getting together and having a bit of fun with friends. If they leave feeling fabulous and having learned something, it will be a real achievement. But we don’t want to leave it there, we can also provide more one-to-one styling services, and we’ll be giving out styling tips and advice through our website and social media.”

After starting out as a model, Chrissi re-trained at the London College of Fashion to move to the other side of the lense and she became a stylist in 2003. She has worked in an independent boutique, is a stylist for EDP Norfolk magazine’s fashion shoots, has been stylist at Intu Chapelfield shopping centre in Norwich and for TV commercials and advertising campaigns, as well as being a trainer for the Retail Skills Academy in the city.
Sue has an MBA from the Institute for Retail Studies and prior to that spent most of her career in senior and board level positions in the retail financial services sector. Among a long list of financial, business and marketing qualifications, Sue trained as a stylist at the London College of Fashion.
Janette started her career in fashion after working for the BBC for 13 years, as a production assistant and studio director. After starting a family, Janette joined John Lewis as the fashion adviser in Norwich. In 2010, she trained in style and colour and was recognised by Tatler magazine and in Vogue when she featured as one of “Norfolk’s finest”. Janette is also a stylist for EDP Norfolk magazine.
Colette has developed her colour analysis, style and wardrobe management skills over the past 12 years, and worked in retail for eight years before adding styling to her role. She has worked in Norwich across the region, with individuals as well as corporate clients.
