Jason Manford

Salford born and bred, Jason Manford loves Stockport so much so that he moved his parents from Whalley Range to be closer to him.

‘What I like about Stockport is that it’s got everything you need - the town centre with all the shops, a theatre, a cinema and a swimming pool, but I’m only five minutes from countryside. I really like that.’

Luis Troyano

Nobody is as proud to be from Cheshire as 2014 Great British finalist, Luis Troyano, in his run to the final he showcased some of the county’s most familiar landmarks such as Lyme Cage and the Poynton gateway sculptures, he even managed to get Poynton trending on twitter

‘I’m a proud Stockport guy. I have no shame in saying where I’m from,’ says Luis. ‘I did The Cage mainly because it’s my wife’s favourite place to visit. I never expected that cake to get the response it did. When it aired, it went crazy with people going “Where is this and what is it he’s done?”’
